An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Panzer IV medium tank in 1:72 scale from the fast assembly range by Italeri. The box contains two models and allows the Ausf. F1 version with the short gun or the Ausf. F2 with the longer barrel to be built. Thanks to the lower parts count it is a quick and straightforward build that suits less experienced modelers and wargamers as well. Check the markings against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Panzer IV was the most widespread German medium tank of the Second World War and the only one that was produced throughout the conflict. The Ausf. F1 version carried the short 7.5 cm KwK 37 L/24 weapon intended to support infantry, whereas the Ausf. F2 received the long high-velocity 7.5 cm KwK 40 L/43 barrel, which markedly improved its anti-tank capability against Soviet machines. It was powered by a twelve-cylinder Maybach engine.
It is a fast assembly kit with a small parts count; even so we recommend gluing the joints with liquid cement for plastic and cleaning them up. Finish the running gear first, then close up the hull. After spraying the base color and a clear coat under the decals, bring out the details with a wash and suggest dust and mud with fine pigments. The two models in the box make it possible to build both versions side by side.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
