An injection-molded plastic model of the German Sd.Kfz.4/1 Raketen-Vielfachwerfer self-propelled rocket launcher of 8 cm caliber in 1:72 scale from Roden. This is a different variant from the usual Panzerwerfer 42 with its 15 cm launcher. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted. For the exact contents of the box go by the enclosed instructions and the markings on the box.
This variant carried a multiple rocket launcher of 8 cm caliber with twenty-four rails on the armored body of the Opel Maultier half-track chassis. Its design followed the Soviet Katyusha rocket weapons, which the Germans adapted. It was built in limited numbers only and reached the units late in the war. It is therefore a rarer and easily distinguished variant: the main recognition feature is the number and layout of the launcher rails.
On armored vehicles, finish the running gear, the half-track chassis and the cab interior first and close up the body only afterwards. Fit the delicate rails and the rockets last. Spray the base coat over a primer and apply the paints with an airbrush; fine-tune the weathering with washes into the recesses and with pigments for dust and mud effects on the tracks and the lower body.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
