Eduard STEEL seat belts RAF early type 1:72 is a set of colored photo-etched seat belts in steel for the cockpits of models of early British RAF aircraft. It is not a model but a detail accessory.
Responsibility details are not available.
This Eduard set in 1:72 scale contains photo-etched seat belts in steel (STEEL) for the cockpits of plastic models of early Royal Air Force aircraft. It is not a kit and not a stand-alone model but a detail accessory printed in color, which replaces the missing or simplified belts in the seat and markedly raises the realism of the cockpit. The steel version holds its shape after bending better than brass does.
RAF aircraft of the early period of the Second World War used harness belts to the standards of the day. Faithfully shaped belts are among the most conspicuous details of an open or clearly visible cockpit, because they draw the eye right after the seat and the instrument panel. That is exactly why it pays not to skimp on them on a model.
Separate the individual belts from the fret with a sharp scalpel on a hard backing. The steel material holds its shape well, so form the belts into a realistic sag over the edge of the seat. Belts printed in color are not normally varnished; it is enough to blend them sensitively with their surroundings and perhaps to pick out the buckle. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), as cement for plastic does not hold on metal. Work with tweezers and good lighting.
The package contains only the photo-etched belts. The model, paints, glue and decals are not included, unless stated otherwise.
