What the item is

An accessory for an aircraft model in 1:72 scale. The SEPECAT designation belongs to the British and French consortium formed for the joint construction of the Jaguar attack aircraft; no other type came about under this brand. Which part of the model the set deals with, and to what extent, is given on the box and in the manufacturer's instructions; the procedure for fitting and painting the individual parts follows those as well.

What accessory sets are for

Accessories replace or refine parts from a kit where the technology of series model production runs into its limits. The result tends to be a crisper shape, finer detail and less fine-tuning. The set is worked out for 1:72 scale and assumes a finished kit for it to be fitted into.

Building and painting tips

• try the fit dry, as the seating surface usually needs fine-tuning
• cut the excess material off a short way from the part with a sharp blade and sand the remainder
• cyanoacrylate holds on all the materials accessories are made from and is therefore a safe choice
• dose the glue with a pin, as glue that runs over will fog the area around the joint
• wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the finish will not hold

Put the parts you cut off into a dish so that they do not roll away across the bench, and before gluing compare the finished set with the instructions so that it is clear what belongs where.

Terms of supply

The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise. Work over a tray and with tweezers, as in 1:72 scale the parts tend to be very tiny.
