Responsibility details are not available.
This kit in 1:72 scale captures the Yak-55M version, the aerobatic special with clipped wings. It is an injection-molded plastic model from the Ukrainian brand Amodel; the package holds parts in gray plastic, a clear canopy and a decal sheet. The kit has separately molded control surfaces.
The Yak-55M is a single-seat competition aerobatic aircraft derived from the Yak-55. The clipped wing gives it an exceptional roll rate and sharp handling, thanks to which it was one of the mainstays of aerobatic teams and collected a number of successes at world championships. It competed with aircraft such as the Sukhoi Su-26, the Su-31 and the Extra 300.
Amodel makes short-run kits, so count on cleaning the parts up and fitting them dry before gluing. Use thin cement for plastic, fill the joints and sand them back. Apply a primer before the covering finish; the varied competition schemes come out well with an airbrush and careful masking. Glue the clear canopy on only at the end of the build.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
