Resin figures of pilots of the Soviet air defense force in modern gear, 1:72 scale, from the Ukrainian maker Armory. An accessory for models and dioramas.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of resin pilot figures in modern flight gear, 1:72 scale, from the Ukrainian brand Armory. The figures suit models of interceptors on a stand as well as dioramas with an aircraft at rest. A figure in 1:72 stands about twenty-five millimeters tall, so these are small castings with fine articulation. They are supplied unpainted and without a base. The number of figures is not stated here; the figure is stated on the box of the set.
In the Soviet structure, air defense was a separate branch, apart from the frontal air force. Its task was not the support of ground forces but the interception of foreign machines over its own territory. That is exactly why it was given machines with long reach and a powerful radar, for example the MiG-25, the MiG-31, the Su-15 or the Tu-128. The crews flew in high-altitude dress with a full-face helmet, because the interceptions took place at great altitudes and high speeds. That made their appearance differ from the pilots of frontal units.
Wash the figures in warm soapy water so that the mold release agent disappears from the surface. Cut the casting blocks off with a sharp scalpel or a fine saw and sand the faces down, protecting your breathing while you sand. Glue with super glue, that is, cyanoacrylate. Spray a thin coat of primer before painting and paint in thin coats so that the relief is not lost; for the face at this scale a brush with a few hairs suits.
The figures are supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
