A set of unpainted figures in 1:72 scale with the subject of Russian sailors of 1900, from the time of the fighting during the Boxer Uprising.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Boxer Uprising broke out in China at the close of the nineteenth century and in 1900 it grew into open fighting in which the armies of eight powers intervened. Tsarist Russia was among them. Warships at that time put naval detachments ashore, so sailors fought on land alongside the infantry. It is precisely this combination of naval equipment and ground combat that makes the subject a rewarding scene, one you will often not find in the usual range of figures.
This is a set of figures in 1:72 scale intended to be built and painted rather than finished painted models. How many figures the package contains, in what poses they are and what armament they carry are given in the enclosed manufacturer's instructions. The scale matches the usual equipment kits of the same scale, so the figures can be set into a diorama with vehicles, guns and buildings.
Before painting, wash the figures in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent and let them dry out completely, otherwise the paint will not hold on the surface. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down carefully. Choose the glue according to the kind of plastic: a solvent cement suits hard polystyrene, while on softer plastics cyanoacrylate holds more reliably. A primer coat always pays off with figures, because on a more flexible material the paint cracks without it. Work from the large areas toward the details and leave the faces and hands until the end.
A set of figures is supplied. Paints, glue, primer and a base are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
