1:72 Spitfire LF Mk.IX e is a photo-etched accessory set for a kit you have already bought, not an aircraft model. It adds details in thin metal sheet to the British fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory set of photo-etched parts in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker Brengun. It is an aftermarket accessory to the Sword 72050 plastic kit: the aircraft itself is not in the package. The photo-etched parts replace those plastic components where the simplification shows most, and add features that the kit manufacturer left out for technical reasons.
The Spitfire Mk.IX came about as a quick answer to the need for more power: a two-stage supercharged V12 engine was fitted into the airframe of the previous version. The LF designation means a version with the engine tuned for low and medium altitudes, where most of the fighting over western Europe took place in the later part of the war. The letter e for the wing type describes an arrangement of gun armament that differed from the earlier configuration.
Metal behaves differently under paint than plastic does: without preparation the finish rubs off easily. A procedure that has proved itself: after cutting the parts out, wash the set in warm water with a drop of dish soap, let it dry without wiping it with a finger, spray a thin coat of primer and only then paint. On small details such as levers and rods, paint applied with the tip of a brush is enough; any excess can be carefully lifted off with a toothpick once it has dried.
This is an accessory set, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
