An injection-molded plastic kit of the two-seat trainer version of the Sukhoi fighter-bomber with a variable-geometry wing, in 1:72 scale from the Czech brand Kovozavody Prostejov. The Su-17UM3 designation applies to the Soviet version and Su-22UM to export machines. The decals make it possible to build several marking options.
The Su-17 and its export version the Su-22 were single-engine combat aircraft with a partly swing wing, which combined good takeoff characteristics with high speed. The two-seat version with the UM index served for pilot training and had a second cockpit with a raised rear seat. The type flew with a number of Eastern Bloc air forces and beyond.
Glue the parts with liquid modeling cement, polish the glazed canopy and protect it with a mask. The wing mechanism calls for careful fitting. After a primer coat with an airbrush, apply the camouflage, the decals and a fine panel wash to pick out the lines.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
