An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Supermarine Spitfire F Mk.21 fighter in 1:72 scale from Special Hobby, focused on its postwar use. A kit to glue and paint, it offers a finely engraved surface and the markings of postwar machines. The Mk.21 is among the last and most powerful stages in the development of the legendary Spitfire.
The Spitfire F Mk.21 was one of the last major development versions of the Spitfire. It received a strengthened airframe, a newly designed wing and the powerful Rolls-Royce Griffon engine, which markedly raised performance over the earlier versions. It only entered full service at the very end of the Second World War, so it saw little combat; it then went on serving into the postwar period, which this kit focuses on.
Assemble and paint the cockpit before you close the fuselage. Glue the plastic with liquid modeling cement, then fill and sand the seams. Spray the surface with a base coat, mask the glazing, apply the shades with an airbrush, lay the decals onto a gloss clear coat and even the whole out with a final clear coat. Postwar schemes tend to be cleaner, so keep the patina discreet.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
