Where rivets run in three parallel lines, punching by hand means three passes and three chances to throw the spacing off. This sheet carries the triple row ready made: the spacing between the lines is fixed by the print, so the whole bundle transfers onto the model at once and stays straight.
The rivets are arranged in three parallel rows and the dimensions match 1:72 scale, that is a rivet diameter of 0.10 mm and a gap of 0.4 mm. The print is black. The total length of the rows on the sheet is 6.6 meters, which matches the stated 22 feet. The rivets are raised, so they form a genuine bump above the surface that catches light and shadow.
These are wet decals. Coat the base with gloss varnish, otherwise silvering will appear under the rivets. Dip the cut section in lukewarm water for a moment and let it stand until the print starts to move freely. Mark the direction out with tape beforehand, as a deviation shows at first glance on a triple row. Settle the row with a soft brush, blot the surplus water away and use a softener on curves. Varnish the whole area once it is dry.
It suits modelers who add dense riveting on fuselages and hems, or who restore structure wiped away when sanding joints. The model, paints, varnish and softener are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
