Resin wheel set for the Tupolev Tu-128 Fiddler in 1:72 scale. An accessory for a kit, not an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of replacement wheels for a model of the Soviet Tupolev Tu-128 Fiddler long-range interceptor in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian brand Armory, cast in resin. This is not an aircraft kit but an accessory that replaces the wheels from the plastic kit. According to the name it is universal, that is, it is not tied to one particular variant; that is not a promise that it will fit any kit, however. Check the part count on the box.
The Tu-128 was an exceptionally large and heavy interceptor meant to watch over the vast and empty northern borders of the Soviet Union. There it was impossible to rely on a dense network of bases and ground radars, so the machine itself had to stay in the air for a long time and far from home. Hence its dimensions: two powerful engines, a large fuel load and heavy guided missiles under the wing. Among aircraft in its role it was one of the largest ever to enter service, and its landing gear had to match the considerable weight of the machine.
Wash the resin wheels in warm soapy water and rid them of the mold release layer from the mold. Cut the casting block off with a saw and sand the mating surface flat so the wheel does not sit crooked on the axle. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint the rim and the tire separately before gluing them together; the transition between them can then be gone over with a fine brush.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
