An injection-molded plastic kit of the American carrier-based F-4J Phantom II fighter in the markings of the Jolly Rogers squadron, in 1:72 scale from Academy. The model offers fine panel lines and scribed detail and can be built in a version in flight or parked. The package contains aircraft armament and quality decals.
The McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II was a two-seat supersonic multirole fighter, one of the most widespread combat aircraft of its day. The F-4J version was a carrier-based fighter of the US Navy. The Jolly Rogers squadron is famous for the striking skull and crossbones marking on the vertical tail surface.
Assemble and varnish the cockpit before closing the fuselage. Decide whether you will build the model in flight with the landing gear retracted or parked. Use thin cement on the plastic. Apply the striking squadron decals over a gloss base so that no silvering is left at the edge. Fit the carried armament only at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
