Replacement wheels in the early version for a model of the Vickers Wellington bomber in 1:72 scale, complemented by painting masks.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Vickers Wellington was a British twin-engined bomber that became famous for the geodetic construction of its airframe, that is a load-bearing frame of crossed members under the covering. It served from the first years of the Second World War and saw a long line of versions. The word early in the name of the set refers to the earlier form of the wheels, as carried by the older machines; exactly which those are is specified by the instructions enclosed with the set.
The set brings two things together: replacement wheels for the main landing gear and painting masks to go with them. The wheels replace the parts from the kit and are supplied as finished replacement parts. The masks serve to separate the color of the hub from the color of the tire without laboriously following the edge with a brush.
Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder away carefully, so that the shape is not damaged. The parts are not polystyrene, so they are joined with super glue. Wash and degrease the wheels before painting. Lay the mask on only once the base has dried, and always before spraying the next color; take it off after spraying while the paint is still fresh, so that the edges do not peel.
The set suits modelers who are not happy with the wheels from the kit or who want a sharp transition between hub and tire. The kit itself, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
