The Kenworth W-900 is a conventional truck that has been built in North America since the sixties and is among the longest-offered American heavy chassis. In dump truck form it gets a shortened wheelbase, a reinforced frame and a body with a lifting mechanism; trucks like these haul bulk material on building sites and in surface quarries. Its hallmarks are the tall conventional front end, the prominent grille and the vertical exhausts behind the cab.
Finish and paint the frame and the lifting mechanism of the body before you seat the body, because later you will not reach them. The body is worth weathering separately — abrasion from the bulk material on the floor and scuffed impact edges make the model believable. Take the chrome off the glued surfaces before gluing. Paint the cab in a gloss shade and clear coat the decals once they are seated.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
