An injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary British prewar sports and racing car Aston Martin Ulster in 1:32 scale from the Revell brand, placed in the collector's Revell Classics range. Despite the compact size of the model it is a finely detailed kit with more demanding features such as wire (spoked) wheels and leather straps over the hood. The Classics range recalls classic automotive icons, and this model is intended rather for more experienced builders.
The Aston Martin Ulster is among the finest British sports cars of the 1930s. It came about in the middle of the 1930s as a lightened racing version and took its name from its successes in the Tourist Trophy road race held in Ulster in Northern Ireland. With its open body, long hood and inline engine it was a typical representative of the era of prewar gentleman racers and remains a sought-after classic to this day.
Glue the body with liquid modeling cement for plastic, and fill and sand the seams smooth, as every irregularity shows under a gloss finish. Apply a primer before painting and lay the paint down with an airbrush in thin coats, polishing it afterwards if you wish. Paint the wire wheels and the chrome accessories separately, so that the contrast stands out; the imitation leather on the seats and straps is brought to life with a matte color and light shading. Dry-fit the small parts first.
