A plastic kit of the British sports roadster MG MGB in 1:32 scale from Revell, released in the edition marked 75 Years. The manufacturer states that the kit dates from 1964 and carries both the period look and the classic box design of that time, and gives the part count as 64. It is therefore a reissue of an old mold, not a new model, with a simpler breakdown than today's kits have. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The MGB was a British open sports car from MG, built from 1962. Against its predecessor, the MGA, it gained a unitary body, a more modern line and low weight, which according to the kit manufacturer gave it remarkable handling. An inline four-cylinder engine powered it. The car became one of the most widespread British roadsters and it still belongs among the classics you meet at every vintage show.
With an old mold expect pronounced mold seams and a looser fit of the parts — fill and sand the gaps before painting. Spray the body in thin coats and clear coat it for gloss; decals then sit better on a glossy base. Break the small chrome parts off the sprue carefully, as the gates tend to be heavy on older molds. Shade the interior in steps, otherwise it merges into one flat area in an open car.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
