Responsibility details are not available.
A set of injection-molded plastic figures in 1:32 scale from the Ukrainian manufacturer ICM. The subject is a scene from the late stage of the Second World War: US Army Air Forces pilots posing for a group photograph. The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted and are intended to complete an aircraft model or a diorama.
1:32 is one of the large aircraft scales, in which the details of the uniform and the equipment stand out: the flight suit, the leather jacket, the life vest, the helmet with the headset and the parachute harness. Figures caught in a relaxed pose beside an aircraft are popular in modeling because they give the model scale and a story: the viewer compares the size of a person with the size of the machine at once. The 1944 to 1945 label defines the form of the equipment, which changed gradually during the war.
Glue the figures with liquid cement for plastic and sand the joints at the shoulders and the neck carefully, filling them if needed: on figures a visible seam is the most common mistake. Start the painting with a base coat that unifies the surface. In this scale it pays to build faces up in stages: a base flesh tone, darker shadows in the hollows, a lighter touch on the raised areas, and only at the end the eyes and the lips. On uniforms a combination of a wash in the folds and a dry brush on the edges works well. Give the leather elements a light sheen and the metal buckles a dark steel color. Before putting a figure into the cockpit of a model, always check that it fits into the space.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
