This is an add-on set in 1:35 scale, not a model of the gun. According to the name it holds fourteen transport containers for the rounds of the 7.5 cm anti-tank gun. It comes into its own at a firing position, on a supply vehicle and as a discreet small item that gives a scene both scale and action.
The German 7.5 cm PaK 40 anti-tank gun became the main weapon of its kind in the Wehrmacht from 1942. It replaced weaker predecessors which the armor of the Soviet machines had outgrown, and its ammunition was also used in the versions of the gun built into vehicles. The rounds were long and heavy, so they were carried to the units in sturdy containers which protected them from damp and impact. Empty containers then piled up at a position, which is a rewarding detail for a modeler: a firing position without discarded containers and cartridge cases looks unused.
Arrange the containers unevenly, some propped against a bank, some scattered in the grass. The small parts are joined with a glue of short setting time, and work over a surface so that nothing vanishes into the carpet. In color it helps to tell the containers apart from the equipment around them: a muted shade with patches and a dry brush on the edges looks more convincing than an area of one color.
