Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet Polikarpov I-16 fighter in the Type 24 version from the manufacturer ICM. The model is made up of several sprues of light gray parts and of clear parts for the canopy, and a decal sheet with several marking options is included as well. The kit offers a cockpit and a landing gear worked out in detail.
The I-16 was one of the first production monoplane fighters with retractable landing gear, developed by the design bureau of N. N. Polikarpov. The Type 24 version was given the more powerful M-63 engine and strengthened landing gear, and it was produced at the turn of 1939 and 1940. At the beginning of the war in 1941 the I-16 formed the backbone of the Soviet fighter force, and it served in combat until 1943.
Separate the parts from the sprues with sprue nippers and glue them with liquid modeling cement for plastic. Before spraying we recommend treating the surface with a primer; the paints are best applied with an airbrush. First finish and paint the interior of the cockpit, and only then close the fuselage.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
