Operation Gardening (1:48, ICM) is an injection-molded plastic kit of the British Hampden bomber in the minelaying version, completed by figures and a naval mine.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:48 scale from the manufacturer ICM captures the British Handley Page HP.52 Hampden bomber in the version adapted for laying naval mines. The set carries the name Operation Gardening after the code name of the British mining operations, and besides the aircraft it also contains figures and a naval mine on a trolley. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Hampden was a British twin-engine bomber of the beginning of the Second World War with a characteristically narrow fuselage. Besides conventional bombing it was also used to lay naval mines in hostile waters. Those mining sorties carried the code name Gardening and made hostile shipping considerably more difficult.
First finish the interior of the cockpit and the bomb bay, then close the fuselage. Mask the glazing and spray with an airbrush. The figures and the mine on its trolley will serve to make a small airfield scene; for the period camouflage, flat shades and fine weathering suit well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
