An injection-molded plastic set of figures in 1:48 scale. It captures American helicopter pilots in the flight gear of the Vietnam War period. The figures serve to bring helicopter models and aviation dioramas to life; this is not an aircraft model but an accessory set of figures.
The crews of American helicopters played a key part in the Vietnam War, carrying troops, evacuating the wounded and giving fire support. The pilots wore a characteristic flight suit, a helmet and a survival vest, which the set captures in matching poses.
First clean the mold seams off the figures. Painting them before the final assembly works well; for skin and gear use shades applied with a brush and fine washes to bring out the folds of the clothing and the detail of the faces. A matte clear coat unifies the surface of the uniforms.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
