A model of the American heavy transport helicopter Sikorsky CH-54A Tarhe (nicknamed the Skycrane) in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian manufacturer ICM. A sizeable model with decals for US Army aviation. A kit to be glued and painted.
The CH-54 Tarhe is Sikorsky's heavy flying crane with a skeletal fuselage and no cargo hold: the load is carried slung beneath the fuselage, which makes it possible to pick up and set down while hovering, without landing. It was used widely in the Vietnam War to recover downed aircraft and to carry guns, vehicles and supplies; its civil derivative is the Erickson S-64 Skycrane.
The model is best built in subassemblies, testing the fit of the parts dry before gluing. Paint the cockpit and the interior and, if you wish, pick them out with a wash before closing the fuselage. For the best result use a quality liquid plastic cement, fine files and, after the primer coat, an airbrush. Apply the decals over a gloss clear coat and seal them with a matte one.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
