A bottled water-based acrylic paint from the aircraft range of the brand AK interactive. The light yellowish brown shade designated A-21m belongs to the Soviet aircraft palette and was used as one of the components of the mottled camouflage of upper surfaces. The paint is neither a lacquer nor an enamel — the binder is acrylic and it is thinned with water or with an acrylic thinner of the same type.
Acrylic and lacquer or enamel chemistry do not get on, so do not thin the paint with cellulose or enamel thinner. Shake the bottle thoroughly before use, because the pigment settles to the bottom. For the airbrush, thin the paint and spray in thin coats. For the soft transitions of a two-color camouflage it pays to spray from a shorter distance at lower pressure, so that the edge of the patch does not come out sharp.
For modelers of Soviet aircraft who need a ready shade from the period palette and do not want to mix it. Apply the paint over a cured primer; on bare plastic acrylic holds less well and risks peeling during masking. When you have finished, seal the model with a clear coat compatible with acrylic.
The paint is intended for modeling use. Work in a ventilated room, protect your airways when spraying and keep out of the reach of children.
