An acid, unhealthy-looking green from the Green Stuff World acrylic range. It aims at slime, mutant tissue and glowing features of science fiction machinery.
Responsibility details are not available.
The shade is named after the bouncy substance from the film and looks exactly like it: artificial, acid, unhealthy to the eye. It does not fit into a palette of uniforms or foliage, because it is not trying to. It belongs everywhere a surface on a model should look out of place and catch the eye before its surroundings do.
Where to use it: the body of a slimy monster, the surface of a waste tank, the tentacles of a deep-sea creature, the inside of an open maw, veining showing through the skin of a mutated figure, or light strips and indicators on fantastic machinery. On an otherwise soberly pitched figure a single patch of this green is enough and the whole composition suddenly has a focal point.
The base decides: rich green pigments have low covering power on their own and over a black primer they slip into an illegible gray-green. Apply a light base first, ideally bone, sand or light gray, and only then the green over it. The difference is evident in the very first coat.
Thinning and mixing: the material is thicker than it looks at first glance and takes a fair amount of water. Two or three fine coats look better than one thick one, which smothers the relief. A drop of yellow will make a luminescent core, while a drop of brown will make a calmed swamp green suitable for algae and mold.
The surface: it dries matte, so glazes and dry pigments sit on it without trouble. If the slime is meant to look wet, coat only selected spots with gloss varnish. The contrast between a matte and a glossy area does more for an impression of wetness than the most carefully chosen shade.
