Acrylic Rods - Round 1.6 mm Fluor PURPLE is an acrylic profile of round cross-section 1.6 mm in diameter in a fluorescent purple finish from the Spanish manufacturer Green Stuff World. The material is translucent and colored right through, so even a thin rod holds a saturated tone along its whole length. It is used wherever a model should show a glowing, strongly colored element that would be hard to imitate by painting an opaque material.
The rod will be appreciated by makers of conversions and scenic bases who want a color accent without painting, and by modelers of science fiction subjects, where a scene is meant to look lit up. Translucent acrylic carries light along the profile, so the end of the rod looks more striking than its body, and that can be used in a composition.
