An airbrush stencil with a wood grain pattern, 60 x 40 mm, intended for 1:48 and 1:32 scales.
Responsibility details are not available.
Wood grain is among the hardest surfaces to do on a model. With a brush it comes out irregular, and grain painted by hand tends to look coarser at first glance than it should in the given scale. The stencil solves the same thing with an airbrush: you lay it on the surface, spray over it and underneath it a pattern of even fineness remains along its whole length.
The stencil measures 60 x 40 mm and the density of the pattern is chosen for 1:48 and 1:32 scales. It finds use on decks, crates, floors, gates and everywhere wood is meant to make up a surface, both on a model and on the base of a scene. You cover an area larger than the stencil itself by laying it on repeatedly; join it up so that the grain continues in the same direction.
First spray the base light shade of wood and let it dry. Only then lay the stencil on, tack it down or hold it so that it does not move during the work, and spray over it with a darker shade. Hold the airbrush perpendicular over the surface, lower the pressure and lay down thin coats; with an angled spray the paint gets under the edge and the pattern smears. Clean the stencil immediately after lifting it off, with the product the paint manufacturer recommends for that range, so that dried paint does not settle in the fine pattern.
The stencil is supplied on its own. Paints, an airbrush and a model are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
