DSPIAE AT-HV Handheld Vise - a handheld vise for small parts

A handheld vise from the Chinese brand DSPIAE that is held in the palm and serves to hold small parts firmly during work. It deals with a situation every modeler knows: a part is too small to be held in the fingers, but too broken up to be laid on a bench. A clamped part can then be sanded, cleaned up, drilled or smoothed at leisure, without having to be shifted again and again and without putting your fingers in the path of the tool.

Use

• Put the part between the jaws and tighten only until it holds - more force means pressure marks, especially on soft plastic and on resin.
• Pack delicate and already painted parts with a strip of masking tape or thin paper, which will protect the surface.
• Hold the vise so that the tool points away from your hand rather than toward it; when drilling, press along the axis of the drill.
• After work, clean the jaws of abrasive dust and glue residue, as otherwise they get worked in and start leaving marks on parts.
• Do not use it as a lever for breaking parts out of a sprue - that is what a nipper is for.
