A fastener made up of a hex head and a markedly larger washer, listed in the 0.7 mm size. The washer under the head gives the joint a double outline, which is visible on a model from a greater distance than the hex alone.
A light ring forms around the head and the eye stops at its rim. The joint therefore does not vanish even on a darkly painted part, where a small head would blend into the base. The washer has a practical advantage as well: it covers the area around the drilled recess and thereby forgives a small inaccuracy that would be visible with a bare head. On a real machine large washers are used where there is a softer material under the joint, that is on plastic covers, fiberglass parts and thin sheet metal.
For builders of motorcycles, cars and machinery who want exposed joints to be readable even in a close-up photograph. Compare the size of the part beforehand directly on the piece it is to belong to. The model, paints, glue and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
