A round millimeter across the flats, a hex carried by a wide washer. The dimension builders usually step off from when planning a build and against which the other sizes are measured.

A whole millimeter is the point in the brand's range from which it is easy to count. The scale runs around it in tenths, and a modeler who picks right here has enough room above and below for fine tuning. The conversion is transparent: in 1:12 it is a head twelve millimeters across, in 1:24 twenty-four.
Let us take it broadly, that is against the whole set at once. Lay all eight sizes from five to twelve tenths side by side and the row looks like a smooth progression, with the extreme pieces differing by more than twice. But pull any two neighbors out of it and place them on opposite sides of the model, and nobody will tell them apart. The difference lives only in immediate company; as soon as the eye has nothing to measure it against, it is lost entirely. From that follows a practical conclusion: watch for consistency within one joint group, and across the whole build keep to appearance rather than to the figure.
Even a beginner can manage the seating. We recommend having a magnifying glass at hand, because checking the rotation of the hex is done by eye, and the rotation is the one thing that cannot be put right once the glue has dried. Anyone installing several pieces in one line is best advised to align them to a single imaginary axis, so that they look like the work of one hand. Mismatched tops give away haste more reliably than a slightly different size.
