Hex heads with a flat notch 0.9 mm in diameter. A dimension for clearly visible places: the mounting of the tank, the footpegs and the clips on the frame.
Responsibility details are not available.
Between eight tenths and one lies a dimension that many sets forget, although it is a full grade of the family. On a model it has a concrete role: it is big enough to be seen even after spraying and varnishing, and yet it does not look like a coarse machine joint.
It is about the shape of the slot. Model manufacturers take over Japanese workshop terminology, in which a straight blade bears the designation minus and a cross blade the designation plus. Here, then, you get a hex cut by a single straight notch: exactly what holds covers and load-bearing brackets on a real machine.
Reach for it where the joint should be readable at first glance: tank mounts, footpeg brackets, the mounting of the exhaust cover, front fork clips. On a real motorcycle these joints are larger than the ones holding plastic covers, and a model that respects that difference looks far more believable than one in which all the heads are the same.
Before inserting, check that the surrounding surface has no sanding dust left on it. Degreasing is a matter of two minutes and decides whether the paint on the metal will last. A proven approach is to insert the heads dry, check their spacing against a photograph of the real machine, only then fix them and finally unify the shade with a thin coat of varnish. The reverse order leads to glue getting into the notch and blocking it.
