A supplementary set of tire valves for models of cars and formula racers in 1:12 scale. According to the name there are two versions in the package, straight and angled, and the sizes run in the range from 1.2 to 1.8 mm.
The valve is one of those details a kit in this scale often skimps on or leaves out altogether. Yet it is visible on the wheel at first glance and a viewer unconsciously reads the size of the whole wheel from it. A separate part with a thin stem looks considerably better close up than a molded stub. The two versions give you a choice according to the type of rim: a straight valve is more common on wheels with a deep well, while an angled one suits places where a straight one could not be reached with a pump.
Drill a hole in the rim with a micro bit to match the diameter of the stem and first try fitting the part dry. If it fits, secure it with a drop of cyanoacrylate glue applied with the tip of a pin, so that the glue does not run across the face of the wheel. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Fit them only once the paintwork on the rim is finished, otherwise you will needlessly coat them in paint. Turn an angled valve so that its end points outward from the wheel, not into it.
The package contains only the valves. A kit, wheels, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
