A gray sanding stick 6 mm wide with grits of 100 and 180 on the two sides. The coarsest grade of the range, intended for quick removal of material.
Responsibility details are not available.
A sanding file is a thin flexible plate with an abrasive layer on both sides, each with a different grit. In this range the gray color of the body marks the coarsest grade, that is grits of 100 and 180. The white version of the same width carries the finer pair of 240 and 320, so the two together cover the whole sequence from coarse removal to preparation under paint.
It is used where material has to be removed quickly: the remains of sprue gates after the part has been nipped off, flash on the parting line of the mold, excess putty on a fuselage joint, leveling an uneven area before the final sanding. A finer grade has to follow it, because the marks of a 100 grit will stay visible under a gloss varnish.
The width of 6 mm is a compromise between reach into narrow places and the area the tool takes up; the range also offers a narrower three-millimeter version and, at the other end, a wide one for large areas. The springiness of the plate makes it possible to follow a gently rounded surface without sanding a flat into it.
Clogged grit can be cleaned by tapping it out or by passing a cleaning disc over it. The sanding stick is sold as single pieces, so you can take just the grade you are running out of.
