An acrylic paint with a shifting shade which moves into green tones according to the angle of view. It is applied over a black gloss base with a brush as well as with an airbrush.

A pigment with a shifting refraction of light has no single color. When a model is turned, the area jumps into a different tone, because the individual flakes of pigment reflect different parts of the spectrum. This green is among the more striking variants and stands out best on large continuous areas, where the eye has time to follow the transition.
The surface underneath has to be black and preferably gloss. On matte black the effect is subdued, and over a light color it disappears altogether, because the pigment needs a dark background for the reflection to show. It therefore pays off to reckon on two steps: first a smooth black coat, and only after it has dried the paint itself.
Shifting shades suit fantastical armor, the hoods of racing machines, the wings of insects on large figures and everything that is to come across as otherworldly. The paint is water-thinnable, non-toxic and non-flammable, so it can be worked with without special equipment. A brush will manage it too, only the effect tends to be somewhat less continuous than when spraying.
Before the pigment goes onto a finished model, it is worth spraying a spoon or a piece of offcut with the same black base. On a test piece it is immediately visible how many coats are needed and where the shift of shade breaks most strongly.
