Chibi-Maru Fleet 12 Battle Ship Set is a large gift set of twelve cute shortened kits of Japanese warships from the Chibi-Maru Fleet line by Fujimi. These are not scale models — the ships are deliberately distorted into a friendly form.
Responsibility details are not available.
Anyone who does not want to pick just one ship will reach for this large set: according to the name it holds twelve kits from the Chibi-Maru Fleet line of the Japanese manufacturer Fujimi. All the ships are done in the typical style of the line — a shortened hull, enlarged characteristic features and an altogether cute look. These are therefore not scale models but deliberately distorted caricatures of real warships which, once assembled, make up an impressive miniature fleet on a shelf.
The Chibi-Maru Fleet line is based on real ships of the Imperial Japanese Navy — battleships, aircraft carriers, cruisers and destroyers of the Second World War period. Each kit in the set captures a different ship, so the builder gradually works through various types of vessel and their characteristic silhouettes, from the massive pagoda superstructures of the battleships to the slender hulls of the destroyers.
The set is ideal for building gradually — the ships can be finished one after another while you watch the fleet grow. The basis of the painting is the gray shade of the Imperial Japanese Navy, the decks can be set apart with a wooden tone and a fine wash will bring out the detail of the superstructures. Thanks to the simplicity of the individual kits the set is also suitable for building together with children (with supervision because of the glue) or as a longer-term relaxing project.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
