Chibi-maru Ship Fuso Special Version from Fujimi is a special release of the cute shortened kit of the Japanese battleship Fuso, completed according to the name with a painted pedestal for display. This is not a scale model — the proportions are deliberately comic and distorted.
Responsibility details are not available.
This special release from the Chibi-Maru line of the Japanese manufacturer Fujimi brings the battleship Fuso in a cute shortened form and, according to the name, adds a painted pedestal on which you can display the finished model straight away. The kit is in no scale — the shortened hull and enlarged superstructures give the ship a likeable caricature look, and the build is quick and undemanding.
Fuso was the first ship of the battleship class of the same name of the Imperial Japanese Navy, completed as early as 1915 and modernized later. She became known for her exceptionally tall pagoda superstructure, one of the tallest on any Japanese battleship. She went down in October 1944 in a night engagement in Surigao Strait.
It is enough to separate the parts with nippers and clean them up lightly. Paint the characteristic tall superstructure deck by deck before you place it on the hull — you will reach all the details. A fine dark wash will beautifully bring out the layout of the pagoda and the gun turrets. According to the name the pedestal is already painted and needs no further work.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
