Chibi-maru Ship Yamashiro Special Version from Fujimi is a special release of the cute shortened kit of the Japanese battleship Yamashiro, completed according to the name with effect parts. This is not a scale model — the proportions are deliberately comic and distorted.
Responsibility details are not available.
Yamashiro, the second battleship of the Fuso class, has been given a cute shortened form in the Chibi-Maru line of the Japanese manufacturer Fujimi. According to the name the special release is completed by effect parts, which give the finished model a livelier look. This is not a scale model — the kit is deliberately distorted and small, and building it is quick and fun.
Yamashiro was completed in 1917 as the second ship of the Fuso class and, like her sister, went through an extensive modernization in the 1930s with the typical tall pagoda superstructure. She went down on the night of 25 October 1944 in Surigao Strait in one of the last duels between battleships in history.
It is more convenient to paint the intricate superstructure before placing it on the hull. You will manage the basics with a brush and a few shades of gray; set the decks apart and bring out the details with a fine dark wash. Fit the effect parts only once the painting is finished so that they stay clean.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
