The curved sanding piece in a gray finish from DSPIAE holds the arched shape for you, so on rounded surfaces you are not relying on the feel in your fingers.
Responsibility details are not available.
A sanding tool with an arched profile. The main difference against abrasive paper bent over a finger or over a pencil lies in repeatability. Bent paper has a different radius every time, because the radius is set by the pressure of the hand, whereas a shaped piece has its profile fixed once and for all. After ten strokes the surface therefore looks the same as after the first, and when you come back to the model in a week you pick up exactly where you left off.
A shaped piece is useful exactly as far as its profile is intact. It therefore pays to sweep the dust out of the profile with a soft brush after work and to store the piece so that it is not knocked against pliers, cutters and other metal tools. A clogged profile sands unevenly, and the modeler most often recognizes it only under the primer, when the problem is considerably harder to put right. If your shaped piece has stopped cutting, check the cleanliness of the profile first and only then consider wear of the abrasive.
For modelers who want the same result on every part, not only on the one they happened to concentrate on well. It comes into play on aircraft, cars and everywhere rounded surfaces run into one another. The gray finish is one of the color variants of this range, so do not ascribe different properties to it without confirmation from the manufacturer.
Fine dust arises while sanding, so work in a ventilated space and consider respiratory protection. Keep tools out of the reach of children.
