DARK GULL GREY FS 36231 – AIR

Dark Gull Grey FS 36231, AIR (17 ml)

A water-thinnable acrylic from the AK 3rd Generation Acrylics range for the airbrush, volume 17 ml. It sprays like a lacquer but is thinned with water or with AK acrylic thinner, never with lacquer or cellulose thinner. The paint is non-toxic and non-flammable.

The color

Dark Gull Grey (FS 36231) is a medium neutral gray long associated with the aircraft of the US Navy. It formed the upper surfaces of the classic gray-over-white scheme used from the mid-1950s to the 1980s, and it also served widely on the anti-glare panels in front of the cockpit and in the cockpit interiors of a number of American machines. It is a universal, calm gray with no color cast.

Use

• An airbrush on the upper surfaces, or detail work on the anti-glare panel.
• It is thinned with water or AK acrylic thinner, not with lacquer thinner.
• Also suitable for cockpit interiors and smaller parts (with a brush too).
• It takes fine washes for picking out panel lines.

Who it is for

For modelers of American naval aircraft and for the details of cockpits and anti-glare panels.

A water-based acrylic: non-toxic and non-flammable, but work with good ventilation all the same. It is not part of a model.
