A dark sand paint listed under the name Dark Tan, from the Orange Line of Hataka, manufacturer code HTK-C012. Two reference numbers stand in the name: FS 30219 refers to the American Federal Standard color set, ANA 628 to the older American Army Navy Aeronautical specification. Shades of this range appear on camouflage schemes with a dry, sandy character, on equipment and on wooden crates, where they break up the monotony of a surface alongside green tones.
Stir the bottle thoroughly before use; otherwise settled pigment shows up as uneven coverage and a shift of tone. The thinner intended for this line and the thinning ratio are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging, and the same thinner cleans brushes and the airbrush. Wash and degrease the surface of the model beforehand. Lay the paint down in thin coats and let each one become tacky before the next; a single heavy coat floods the engraving and wipes out fine surface detail.
The shade on a color chip and the shade on a finished model are not the same thing. On a small area, under varnish and in different light the paint reads differently, so try it on a piece of scrap plastic before you touch the model. With sandy tones it also pays to expect the final matte coat to lighten them further. Close the bottle carefully after use and store it dry, away from frost and direct sun.
Thinner, brushes and airbrushes are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
