A finished figure or a small model laid straight on a shelf looks unfinished and tips over easily. A plinth gives the work a firm place, raises it above the level of the board and sets it apart from its surroundings, so the eye goes to the model and not to what lies behind it. In a display case it also unifies a collection: identical plinths under different figures turn the whole into a row rather than a heap.
The plan measures 2.5 x 2.5 cm, that is roughly the area of the base of an ordinary tabletop gaming figure. The plinth is wooden and in a black rendition, which does not compete with the colors of a model and suits light as well as dark work. A smaller plan also has the advantage that several pieces can be set side by side in a close row without filling a display case.
The plinth itself is supplied as described. A figure, a model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
