Earth Brown is an earthy brown tone to which the American Federal Standard 595 color set assigns the number 30099. That color set describes shades by a five-digit number, so they can be looked up across brands instead of a verbal approximation such as brown like soil. The first digit describes the sheen of the sample in the color set, not necessarily the sheen of the particular paint in the bottle. On a model a brown tone is rewarding in that it holds together the green and sandy areas of camouflage and does not look alien beside them.
Stir the bottle thoroughly before use; the pigment settles at the bottom. The thinner intended for this line and the thinning ratio are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging, so keep to those instructions. Apply in several thin coats and let each one dry; one heavy coat floods fine rivets and seams. Wash the surface before painting, degrease it and give it a primer coat, especially on metal and resin parts.
It suits modelers who need a brown area backed by a color set number rather than by a guess from a photograph. It is used on camouflage areas and on the small things around equipment, from crates and drums to gear for a diorama.
Thinner, brushes and the model are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise. The volume of the package is stated by the manufacturer on the packaging.
