Six castings of the French 7.5 mm automatic weapon for 1:48 scale. Half have the legs folded against the barrel and half have them spread.
Responsibility details are not available.
This 7.5 mm light machine gun, which came about at the arsenal in Chatellerault, became the standard automatic weapon of the French infantry squad. You will recognize it by the flat magazine fitted from above and by the pair of triggers, where the front one controlled single shots and the rear one bursts. In 1940 the whole French army went into battle with it, and despite its age it stayed in service long after the war.
The two bipod versions are practical. The folded pieces belong in brackets inside a vehicle, on crates or in the hands of a marching figure, while the deployed ones go into a firing position behind an embankment or in the window of a house. Thanks to that, one package is enough for a single scene.
In this scale both the barrel and the legs are very slender, so separate them from the carrier with a fine-toothed saw and never snap them off. It pays to paint the weapon before removing it, as it is far easier to hold by the carrier. A metallic tone is brought out by a careful rub with graphite once the paint has dried.
Which scene do the weapons suit? A French unit of 1940 at a roadblock, an abandoned position after a withdrawal, or on the contrary a captured piece in enemy hands, since captured weapons were used routinely. Several weapons stacked in a pyramid beside a tent is also a rewarding and easily built motif.
