Autumn Foliage Red

HEKI foliage flakes, autumn red, 200 ml

Loose foliage flakes from the German maker HEKI in a package of two hundred milliliters, colored red. A red autumn is effective on a model, but at the same time it is the most treacherous of all the autumn tones, because in a large quantity it slides toward the impression of plastic. It is therefore used deliberately, on individual trees and on groups of bushes, where it creates the focus of a scene, while the surroundings stay in subdued green and brown.

• a color focus in an otherwise subdued autumn scene
• completing yellow and brown foliage into a more varied crown

How to work with the foliage

Coat the tree armature with flocking or thinned white glue and scatter the flakes from above over a dish placed underneath. You will achieve the best results by mixing: add a little yellow and brown to the red, for a natural autumn tree never has one single color. The same foliage can then be scattered in a smaller quantity on the ground beneath the crown as well, so that it shows where the leaves fall from.

For builders of autumn dioramas and layouts and for modelers who want a clear color focus in a scene. It also suits garden scenes, where a bush colored red by a house gives the season away sooner than anything else. This is a loose material, so do not inhale it and keep it out of reach of children. The maker marks its landscaping goods as not suitable for children under fifteen years of age.
