Four finished model trees from the German maker HEKI, thirteen centimeters tall. A poplar keeps a narrow tall silhouette that cannot be mistaken for any other species, and thirteen centimeters is a height that on a layout matches a mature but not the largest tree. Four pieces in the box add up to a short avenue or a group by a grassy strip between fields, or else fill in an existing row of trees with lower pieces.
The trees are pushed into a pre-drilled hole or glued by the foot of the trunk. With slender shapes it pays to make the hole deeper and fix the trunk in it with a drop of glue, otherwise the tree will tip at the first touch. In an avenue do not set all the pieces at the same height, as even planted trees do not grow at the same rate. Combining them with taller poplars of the same brand gives a row of trees a natural rhythm.
