Heki static grass with fibers 2 to 3 millimeters long, 100 grams in the package. Short growth for dioramas and layouts with no tie to one scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
Static grass consists of short fibers which stand upright in glue, so that growth reads as growing rather than as sprinkled on. The fibers are 2 to 3 millimeters and the package weighs 100 grams. In H0 scale such a length corresponds to grass roughly 17 to 26 centimeters tall, in 1:35 scale to roughly 7 to 10 centimeters. This is therefore low, closely cut growth of the kind that grows in a yard, on a village green, along roads and on kept areas. The designation neutral points to the fact that the fiber length is not tied to a single scale.
First coat the area with glue and apply the fibers to it from an applicator which charges them electrostatically; the fibers stand up square and dry upright in the glue. Hold the mesh several centimeters above the area and work in smaller sections, so that the glue does not dry before you get to it. Once dry, tilt the diorama, sweep the excess away with a soft brush or vacuum it carefully and keep it for further use.
Short grass looks best where it has a reason to be short, that is on trodden and mown areas. Let the surface show through in places, then, tread paths in by running a finger over them while the glue is setting, and add islands of longer fibers by fences and at the foot of walls, where a scythe cannot reach. You can fine-tune the shade with paint applied very lightly from a considerable distance, so that the fibers do not stick together into a solid area.
The package holds 100 grams of fibers 2 to 3 millimeters long. The glue, a static grass applicator, a base and other scenery material are not included, unless stated otherwise.
