A self-adhesive strip of two-lane asphalt road in N scale from the Heki company, measuring 100 x 4 cm. It is laid without glue straight onto a prepared surface.
Responsibility details are not available.
An asphalt roadway with two traffic lanes is the most ordinary road you need on a layout: it links villages, heads for a station, runs along a line. The strip is prepared in N scale and brings a continuous surface which you do not have to put together from pieces and whose joints you do not have to deal with.
The strip measures 100 x 4 cm. A width of four centimeters represents, in N scale, that is 1:160, a roadway roughly 6.4 meters wide, which corresponds to an ordinary two-lane road outside a village. A meter of length covers about 160 meters of real road in the same scale.
The surface has to be flat, dry and free of dust, otherwise every unevenness will be pressed into the surface. First lay the strip in dry and check the route, and only then uncover the adhesive layer step by step and press down from the middle out to the edges, so that no air stays under the surface. With a sharp knife against a ruler you will adjust the length and the shape of a turning. Work the edges in with a fine loose material or with grass growth, so that the edge does not show.
A new roadway tends to be too clean on a model. A thin pigment deposit along the edges, a darker trace in the middle of the lane and paler wheel tracks will turn the strip into a road that really is driven on. A dusty edge where the roadway passes into the shoulder works just as well.
The package holds the road strip. A surface, the paints and the other accessories of scenery are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
