A sheet of road surface with a concrete roadway measuring 48 x 24 cm for H0 scale. Intended for creating roads and paved areas on a layout or a diorama.
Responsibility details are not available.
A concrete roadway belongs to industrial sites, station areas, airfield roadways and roads laid from concrete slabs. It differs from asphalt in a lighter tone and above all in the regular joints between the slabs, which tell the viewer at once what surface it is. This sheet from the Heki company brings such a surface ready-made, so you do not have to build it up laboriously with filler or by scribing into the base.
The sheet measures 48 x 24 cm, which is an area of roughly 1150 square centimeters. In H0 scale, that is in a ratio of 1:87, the longer side corresponds to just under 42 meters of real length and the shorter side to about 21 meters. One sheet will therefore give either a long through stretch of road, or the whole paved area of a yard or a storage depot, depending on how you lay the area out.
First mark on the base where the roadway is to run and lay the sheet on dry. Fix it in place according to the manufacturer's instructions. It pays to tone the surface down once laid: a lighter touch in the wheel tracks, a darker glaze at the edges where dirt collects, and a fine accent in the joints between the slabs. Cover the transition between the roadway and the surrounding terrain with a ballast edge or with grass growth, so that the edge does not show.
The sheet is for builders of layouts and dioramas in H0 scale who need a large paved area in a single tone and without lengthy preparation. Model vehicles, the buildings, the paints and the glue are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
