A barrel on its own is only a cylinder with pressings. Only a warning label turns it into a container with dangerous contents and establishes what is actually happening in a scene. The sheet in 1:35 scale brings markings for barrels of toxic waste, that is exactly the layer of information that a bare casting lacks.
On dioramas with a factory or warehouse setting, at a contaminated zone, on scenes with waste disposal and in post-apocalyptic subjects. It will also serve as a small enlivenment in the bed of a vehicle, on a pallet or in the corner of a workshop, where two or three labeled barrels are enough to round a story out. The markings will serve just as well on jerrycans and smaller containers, provided the size of the print matches.
Cut the motif off close to the edge of the print and soak it in lukewarm water. As soon as the film comes loose from the backing, slide it into place and fine-tune the position with a damp brush. The cylindrical wall of a barrel is treacherous, as a decal easily forms a crease on it, so add a decal softener slowly and let it work instead of pressing the film with your fingers. The decal follows the pressings on the skin of a barrel more willingly when the base has been coated with a gloss varnish beforehand. Once dry, matte it down and feel free to add rust and running marks; the print will take it.
For modelers who build the setting around equipment and keep an eye on small graphics. The package contains only the decal sheet; barrels, paints and varnishes are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
