A flag and a sleeve patch are the two quickest ways of telling a viewer who it is they see in a scene. In 1:35 scale both measure only a few millimeters and are hard to paint with a brush, so a decal does the job better and more cleanly. The sheet brings the flags and patches connected with the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces.
On the sleeves and chests of figures in present-day uniforms, on kit carriers and backpacks. The flags will also find a use on the vertical surfaces around figures, that is on the sides of vehicles, on boxes or on an improvised mast on a diorama. They will serve well where a figure holds or has a piece of kit thrown over it too. A little flag on a backpack or on a helmet is a small thing that a viewer notices sooner than an elaborately shaded uniform.
Work with tweezers and a sharp scalpel, as the motifs are small and a film once folded can no longer be straightened. Varnish the place under the decal with a gloss varnish, so that no matte border is left around it. After soaking and loosening, slide the motif into place with the tip of a damp brush. On a sleeve a decal softener is the key, because a patch has to follow the folds of the cloth, or it looks like a surface stuck across the arm. Finally matte the figure down and unify the decal lightly with a glaze in the shade of the uniform.
For modelers who build present-day scenes with figures and want the markings of affiliation legible even in scale. The package contains only the decal sheet; figures, the model, paints and varnishes are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
